2024 Kindness Stroll Fundraiser

The 2024 Kindness Stroll is a fundraiser for the nonprofit, Action For Kindness, and it is in full planning mode. This is the second year for our Stroll. In 2023 we raised over $2,500 through voting which was shared with 3 other community Nonprofits.

The Kindness Stroll happens when local students (grades 3 through college) submit BE KIND Sign designs for consideration to be featured during the stroll. The deadline for this year's design submissions is July 8. If their design is chosen, students are invited to paint a reclaimed wood sign (1', 2', or 3' in size). Once all the signs are painted they are placed with QR codes in the windows of Kindness Envoy level sponsors in the Downtown Westminster footprint during the official stroll. There are 5 levels of sponsorship and the sponsorship packet is available on the Action For Kindness website ActionForKindness.org.

This year the official stroll will take place from August 19 through September 29.To begin the stroll there will be a Kick Office Celebration Ice Cream Social held in collaboration with the City of Westminster Rec & Parks on Main Street at Locust Lane on Thursday, August 22 from 4p - 6p. There will be food, games, stroll artists, maps of the stroll, and QR code tutorials available. 

Friends, family, neighbors, and everyone in the community are invited to stroll around Downtown Westminster to see the students' artwork in person and vote for their favorite. Each vote costs $1 and is conveyed online through the QR code that accompanies each sign.

This year, funds raised through voting will be shared with 6 other local nonprofit organizations: Boys & Girls Clubs of Carroll County; Carroll County Arts Center; Find Your Purpose; Westminster Elementary PTO; Westminster West Middle PTO; William Winchester Elementary PTA. Special stroll activities and designated Nonprofit Partners, Supporters and Sponsors Stroll Days will be announced, encouraging the community to engage with and support the stroll.

At the end of the stroll we'll have a Student Artists & Supporters Recognition Ceremony on one of the stages during the Westminster Fallfest on Sunday, September 29 (time TBD). Results of the stroll will be announced the first week in October.
